STRAND 6 CHRISTIANS LIVING TODAY.

6.1 -Family relationships.

 A family is a social group made up of parents and their children.

 A family refers to people who are related by blood, marriage or adoption.

 It comprises of parents or guardians, children and other members.

 Families make up a society.

 Children and adults learn responsibilities from home and later demonstrate them in the larger society.

 In a family, members interact with one another. They also have specific roles and responsibilities which facilitates proper running of the family. For example, parents or guardians play the following roles and responsibilities in a family:

 They provide love and care for the children.

 Teach their children the basic aspects of life such as how to work, eat, read, write and basic hygiene among others.

 Parents or guardians provide for the materials needs of their children such as food, shelter and clothes.

 They provide security for their children…….
